Operations
Inland Fruit Company, a dedicated leader in the produce industry, is
committed to maintaining its leadership role through this new millennium.
Currently, the company employs approximately 600 quality-trained workers that
assist in the production of over 6,000,000 cartons of packed fruit per year.
The company's three large packing facilities are all conveniently located in
the Yakima Valley, which is geographically centered directly in the heart of
fruit country.
The company's main office and loading facility are located just 8 miles
south of Yakima, in the town of Wapato, WA, which is on the Yakama Indian
Reservation. Easily accessible, just off of Highway 97, the Wapato facility
houses a large indoor six-bay loading area with an experienced crew that is
dedicated to making customer service the top priority of each working day.
The Wapato facility utilizes a High-Tech 16 lane sorter that electronically
grades and sorts fruit by color and size. This high production system gently
sorts Peaches, Nectarines, and Apples. Bulk product is stored in high capacity
cold rooms that utilize the latest controlled atmosphere technology.
The Zillah facility sets a new standard for fruit packing operations.
Conveniently located off Interstate 82, this High-Tech facility houses one of
the industry's most advanced cherry packing operations. State of the art cold
storate rooms hold some of Washington State's finest pears.
The Yakima operation is known for its outstanding quality packed apples
and pears. The facility is located in West Yakima. Bulk product is pre-sorted
in the Yakima facility on a high production pre-sizer. After the product is
pre-sized, it is packed at a later date on one of the company's three high
production packing lines.
Inland Fruit Company combines technology with time-proven methods
that help to provide customers with high quality consistent products at a
fair market price.
